Dr. Michael Lock grew up in Packwood, Iowa, and earned his degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa before pursuing his passion for optometry. In 2004, he graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry with a degree in Optometry. Dr Lock was inspired to become an optometrist with the goal of using his skills to make a difference in underserved communities. During optometry school, he took his first medical mission trip to Christianville in Gressier, Haiti, where he had the opportunity to serve and learn in a truly impactful way.
Dr. Lock has also been deeply involved in his community as a pastor and coach, always eager to give back and support those around him. It is truly his joy to care for patients—he is known for his kindness, knowledge, and ability to make each patient feel heard and seen. Dr. Lock loves working with families and is honored to care for generations from the same family—whether it’s kids, parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents! His dedication to his patients and community is evident in everything he does.
