Myopia Management

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a common eye condition that causes blurry vision at a distance. Essentially, myopia occurs when the eyeball grows too long, causing light to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it. This results in difficulty seeing distant objects clearly, while close-up vision often remains unaffected.

Myopia typically develops in school-age children and tends to progress until around the age of 20. If you’ve experienced myopia, you’re likely familiar with the visual frustrations that come with it—like struggling to see the board at school, not being able to clearly see street signs, or having to squint to recognize faces from afar. As a child, you may also remember activities like swimming or playing sports being challenging without your glasses or contacts.
